What is Breeze of Joy Foundation?

Breeze of Joy Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Fullerton, California. We sponsor the education of girls in developing regions — currently in India and Bangladesh — covering tuition, books, supplies, and uniforms. We are 100% volunteer-run with zero overhead costs.

When was Breeze of Joy Foundation founded?

We were founded in 2021 by Joy and Dr. Soha Sobhanian, two women who grew up in cultures where girls' education was often sidelined. We started with one sponsored girl and have grown since then.

Are you a registered nonprofit?

Yes. We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with EIN: 86-3212923. We are also registered with the California Attorney General's Registry of Charitable Trusts and hold a Candid Platinum Seal for transparency (2026).

Where are you located?

Our founders and volunteers are based in Fullerton, California, USA. We operate entirely from our homes — we have no office, no rented space, and no physical overhead of any kind.

Donations & Money

Where does my donation go?

100% of every donation goes directly to a girl's education — covering school tuition, textbooks, notebooks, pencils, and school uniforms. Not a single penny is used for salaries, rent, or administrative costs. Our founders cover all operational expenses personally.

Is my donation tax-deductible?

Yes. Breeze of Joy Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization, so all donations made by US taxpayers are fully tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. You will receive a donation receipt for your records. International donors should consult their local tax advisor.

How much does it cost to sponsor a girl?

Full sponsorship of one girl costs $50 per month, covering all her school-related expenses for that month. One-time gifts of any amount also go directly toward girls' education. Even $25 covers a full semester of school supplies.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit and debit cards, as well as bank transfers, through our donation platform Zeffy. Zeffy is a zero-fee platform — meaning 100% of your donation reaches us with no platform deductions.

Are there any fees on my donation?

No. We use Zeffy, the only nonprofit donation platform that charges absolutely zero fees. Unlike GoFundMe or other platforms that take 2–5%, Zeffy charges nothing. Every dollar you give reaches a girl's education.

Can I set up a recurring monthly donation?

Yes! You can set up a monthly recurring donation through our donation form. Monthly donors provide the most reliable support and allow us to plan long-term education sponsorships. You can cancel at any time.

Can I get a refund on my donation?

Donations are generally non-refundable as they are immediately directed toward girls' education. However, if you believe a donation was made in error, please contact us within 7 days at [email protected] and we will review your request.

The Girls We Sponsor

How do you find the girls you sponsor?

We work through trusted community contacts, local school principals, and families in underserved regions of India and Bangladesh. Each girl is personally vetted — we visit her home, meet her family, and verify her enrollment in school.

Do you know each girl personally?

Yes. Unlike large nonprofits, we personally know every girl we sponsor. We know her name, her family, her school, and her dreams. We make regular visits and maintain ongoing contact with her family throughout her education.

How do you verify the money reaches the girls?

We pay school fees directly to the schools and purchase supplies directly from local vendors. We document every transaction with receipts. Our annual financial reports are filed with the IRS and available upon request.

Will I receive updates about the girl I sponsor?

Yes. We share regular updates, photos, and stories through our newsletter, social media, and website. You can subscribe to our updates to stay connected with the impact of your donation.
