Ashmi

HER STORY

Ashmi is the only daughter in her family and carries the hopes and dreams of her parents for a brighter future. Her father lives with hemophilia, a serious bleeding disorder that requires ongoing medical care. Despite his condition, he continues to give private lessons to young children in their village whenever his health allows. Her mother works as a domestic helper for several families, doing everything she can to support the household and keep Ashmi in school. Much of the family's limited income is spent on her father's medical treatment, leaving very little for everyday expenses or education. Even with these challenges, Ashmi remains determined to pursue her studies. Inspired by her own experiences, Ashmi dreams of becoming a physics teacher. Growing up, she struggled to find a qualified physics mentor, and she hopes to one day provide the guidance and encouragement that many students in underserved communities are unable to access. Her goal is to help talented children from low-income families receive the education and support they need to achieve their dreams.
